About Metroplex West

The Metroplex West has for some years been divided into both DFPS legacy and Community Based Care, however change is on the way to once again unite Metroplex West.

The area previously known as Region 3b, which is comprised of Palo Pinto, Parker, Tarrant, Erath, Hood, Somervell, and Johnson counties near Fort Worth, has been in Stage II of Community Based Care since March 2020. The Single Source Continuum Contractor (SSCC) has been responsible for the full continuum of care and case management in these counties. The SSCC for this area is Our Community Our Kids (OCOK). Visit the Our Community Our Kids (OCOK) website to learn about them.

Effective November 1, 2023, OCOK entered a new contract that expanded their service area to Denton, Cooke, and Wise counties. OCOK assumed responsibility of services to children in paid placements from these counties on April 1, while continuing preparations to assume full responsibility for the continuum of care and case management in Denton, Cooke, and Wise counties within 2024. OCOK continues their current full case management work in the 7 counties.
