Licensing Policy and Procedures Handbook Revision August 15, 2008

This revision of the Licensing Policy and Procedures Handbook (LPPH) was published on August 15, 2008. Summaries of new revised items are provided below.

Background Checks for Center Employees

In response to legislation, Licensing Administrative rules have been adopted, effective June 1, 2008, that require an FBI fingerprint check on anyone hired or new to a child day care center after September 1, 2007. These rules also apply to anyone who is due for the 24-month background check update.

Rules were also revised to provide for a center that is experiencing a staff shortage and needs to hire a person to meet minimum child to caregiver ratios.
