Investigations Involving Trafficking or Child Fatality (PATS 13122)
The Child Care Investigations Handbook is being updated to clarify procedures for investigations involving child trafficking, or investigations involving a child fatality. Procedures regarding trafficking allegations specify the need for joint investigations with law enforcement and Special Investigators. Procedures for investigations involving a child fatality are updated to specify when investigations can be completed or when the investigation must be extended.
A policy section is also added to handbook to provide a general overview of investigation tasks.
