Removal of DSHS References in SWI Handbook (PATS 13559)

SWI no longer refers reports to DSHS and no longer uses the I&R type, Referred to DSHS. Instead, information about previous referrals to DSHS has been combined with Referred to HHSC.

IMPACT Resource Section (PATS 13669)

This handbook revision clarifies that intake specialists do not complete the Resource section in IMPACT for an I&R because the field cannot see that section in their version of IMPACT. Instead, intake specialists document any facility information in the Narrative.

Placement Assistance for Therapeutic Needs (PATS 13672)

As a result of changes to the way families can request assistance with therapeutic placement, SWI is updating its policy to direct families to their local mental health authority for referral.

CSCAL Reported by Law Enforcement (PATS 13676)

This policy revision changes the name of the number used by law enforcement to reference CSCAL reports from CPN to OCA (originating case agency). There are no changes to assessing or processing the report.

Reasons for a Re-Entry (PATS 13689)

This handbook revision adds a reason why SWI may re-enter a report. The new reason relates to a CPI request for re-entry for a Priority 1 intake created due to CSCAL procedures.
