This revision of the Statewide Intake Policy and Procedures Handbook was published on October 3, 2022. Summaries of new or revised items are provided below.
DIF References (PATS 13732)
This update provides references to Desarrollo Integral de la Familia (DIF) information. DIF is found in the 4000 section. Minor corrections were made to I&R type and program in 4716 Child Resides in Mexico.

Worker Safety Issues (PATS 13761)
This policy revision adds HIV and COVID-19 to the list of examples of possible infections that require documentation in the Comments box under Worker Safety Issues.

Reason for Re-Entry (PATS 13803)
This handbook revision removes the following reason from the list of reasons for a re-entry: An intake was progressed to the Alternative Response (A-R) stage but should have been progressed to the Investigation (INV) stage.
There is no change to policy. Both screeners and field staff have the ability to switch from A-R to INV.

CPS Out-of-State Table (PATS 13843)
This handbook revision does the following:
- Updates the CPS Out-of-State Table to address situations when the alleged perpetrator poses an immediate safety threat to a minor and they are both in Texas and ICPC situations.
- Adds new policy about children in an ICPC placement who allege abuse or neglect.
- Makes minor revisions to 3121 Specific Considerations for an I&R to Existing Case and 3416 Request for an Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC).
