Handbook Revision, April 2018
This revision of the DFPS Background Checks Handbook was published on April 2, 2018. Summaries of new or revised items are provided below.
Section 1000 Reorganization Updates (PATS 10552)
Part of the original Centralized Background Check Unit (CBCU) moved to HHSC effective September 2017. The group remaining at DFPS is now known as the Background Checks (BC) division. The portions of the BC Handbook most needed by non-DFPS entities were revised to reflect these changes in February 2018. This revision updates BC’s administrative policies.
